Integrated Corporate Branding for the African Feminist Change Maker (AFCM) Program 2025

At Paper Plane Digital Creatives, we believe that impactful branding is more than just aestheticsโ€”itโ€™s about creating a cohesive identity that speaks to the mission and vision of an organization. We had the privilege of working with the African Feminist Change Maker (AFCM) program to develop a comprehensive branding package that aligned with their advocacy and empowerment initiatives.

Understanding AFCMโ€™s Vision

AFCM is dedicated to fostering feminist leadership and driving change in technology and climate innovation across Africa. The program, launched under SPARK in collaboration with Sustainet Group Ltd and FIDA Kenya, seeks to equip women with the tools, networks, and knowledge needed to thrive in these sectors. The initiative also aligns with Goal 5 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which focuses on achieving gender equality and empowering women and girls.

With a strong emphasis on inclusivity, adaptive leadership, and sustainable solutions, AFCMโ€™s efforts go beyond traditional capacity-building. The program incorporates mentorship, networking, and an immersive learning experience to develop the next generation of women eco-preneurs and leaders. Our role in this journey was to create a branding identity that would amplify AFCMโ€™s mission and ensure their message resonated with stakeholders and participants alike.

Our Branding Approach

We approached this project with a focus on consistency, quality, and visibility. Our team curated a range of branding materials to enhance AFCMโ€™s presence both online and offline. The process involved:

  • Social Media Graphics โ€“ We designed visually appealing and message-driven graphics tailored for AFCMโ€™s digital platforms. These graphics maintained a consistent color palette, typography, and style to reinforce the organizationโ€™s identity across social media channels.
  • Branded Merchandise & Materials โ€“ To create a lasting impression among AFCM participants and stakeholders, we developed high-quality branded items, including:
    • Skinfeel Thermal Bottles
    • Tote Bags
    • Pens
    • Custom Booklets
    • Maasai Shukas
    • Lanyards with Identification Cards
    • Backdrops
    • Banners
    • Teardrop Banners
    • Roll-up Banners
    • Stickers

These materials played a crucial role during AFCMโ€™s three-day bootcamp held in Arusha, Tanzania (January 22โ€“24, 2025), where participants engaged in workshops on feminist leadership, adaptive strategies, storytelling, and scaling impact. The branded items not only enhanced the event experience but also fostered a sense of community among the participants.

Impact & Results

Our branding solutions provided AFCM with a polished and professional identity that strengthened their outreach efforts. The combination of digital assets and tangible branded materials helped increase engagement, enhance brand recognition, and create a unified brand experience for participants.

By ensuring a strong visual presence, we helped AFCM:

  • Strengthen their credibility and professional image in the tech and climate innovation space.
  • Enhance the visibility of their stakeholders and sponsors.
  • Create an immersive experience for participants, reinforcing their connection to the program.
  • Support the mentorship and community-building aspects of AFCM, ensuring that participants felt a strong sense of belonging.

With a strategic and well-executed branding approach, AFCM was able to present itself in a visually compelling and consistent manner, reinforcing its position as a leader in feminist change-making across Africa.
